How the best months are worked out

  • 20 years of climate data

Every month of every place is judged on daily weather records from 2006–2025.

  • Six weather measures

Temperature, how it feels with humidity and wind, rainfall, wet days, sunshine and daylight.

  • Judged per activity

Skiing wants cold and snow, a beach holiday wants heat. Each only shows for real ski or beach places.

  • Events can lift a month

A major event, such as cherry blossom in Tokyo, moves a month up one step: good to best.

Switch to “Weather only” to leave the events out. Crowds and other warnings are listed on each place’s page but never count against a month.
